Why Recycle with Shop Good?
Since many of our favorite products are made up of multiple materials and small components, microsorting at most local recycling facilities just doesn’t happen, and poof, the cleanser bottle you thought you “recycled” ends up in landfill. Shop Good wants to help. We’re proud to be partnering with TerraCycle, a social enterprise recycling platform that works to reuse, upcycle and recycle waste. This moves waste from a linear system to a circular one, allowing it to keep cycling in our economy vs ending in landfull. Step One: Use Up and Wipe Down Your Empties
You know those extra-loved products by the repeated menagerie of ’empties’ you collect. Love up those favorites down to every. last. drop. before bringing them to us! Reach for a Q-tip or scraping tool to make sure you’re using up all the good stuff.
In order for our team to be able to recycle your products, all containers need to be completely cleaned, without any residue or left-over product in sight. An overnight soak in soap & water should do the trick!
A List of Accepted Empties: Shampoo + conditioner bottles and caps, hair spray bottles and pumps, lip balm tubes, face + body soap dispensers and tubes, lotion bottles, tubes, dispensers, and jars, shaving foam tubes (no cans please), lip gloss tubes, mascara tubes, eye liner pencils and cases, eye shadow, tubes, foundation containers, concealer tubes and sticks.*

Step Two: Cut Ties With Your Empties
Hand off your empties to our in-store teams at our San Diego stores and we’ll take it from there. We work with TerraCycle to ensure your personal care empties are broken down by component, sorted and processed into raw materials and ultimately reused or upcycled… instead of being directly sent to landfill. Cue, more space in your beauty cabinet and a happier planet.
